ABSTRACT. The current study has extended past research by elucidating structured webs of social relationships, emergence of specific forms of power in organizations, mechanisms of power in organizations, and ritual interaction in mediated situations. The purpose of this article is to describe the findings from this review and to discuss implications and future directions for practice-related research with the nature and functioning of human social life, the social structuring of human life, the emergence of new organizational forms, the effects of over-configured social ties, and the impact of shared values on organization performance. pp. 88–91
