Abstract.The main objective of this study is to analyze a television manipulation act that took place during the Romanian Presidential Campaign in 2009. It is one of the few cases where the manipulation phenomenon, so often subjected to endlessly interpretations, can be analyzed as a result of it’s obviousness. In order to classify a media action as a manipulation act it is necessary to know the structure of manipulation: who is manipulating, who is the subject of manipulation, what is the manipulator’s intentions, but this analysis is condemned to reach a dead-end – it is very hard to prove, step by step, what are the structural elements that form a manipulation act, without relying on moral judgments. It is the obviousness of this case elements that makes it exemplary. pp. 255–264
