Financial reporting quality is an important determinant of the usefulness and credibility of information available to investors. Investors rely on financial statements to evaluate profitability, financial position, cash flows, risks, and future prospects. This paper examines the impact of financial reporting quality on investor confidence, focusing on relevance, faithful representation, transparency, comparability, information asymmetry, and corporate governance. High-quality financial reporting can reduce uncertainty and information asymmetry by providing investors with reliable and decision-useful information. Transparent reporting may strengthen investor confidence, support more efficient capital allocation, and improve perceptions of corporate credibility. In contrast, poor-quality reporting, earnings manipulation, inconsistent disclosure, and weak governance can undermine trust and increase perceived investment risk. The paper concludes that financial reporting quality has an important role in developing and maintaining investor confidence. Strong accounting standards, effective auditing, corporate governance, internal controls, and transparent disclosure are essential for ensuring that financial information remains credible and useful to investors.
