Plagrism and AI policy

The Journal of Communication and Behavioural Sciences is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, originality, and responsible research practices. All submitted manuscripts must be original works of the authors and must not contain plagiarized, fabricated, falsified, or improperly attributed material. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all ideas, statements, data, figures, and text derived from other sources are appropriately acknowledged and cited.

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts may be screened for plagiarism and substantial textual similarity using appropriate plagiarism-detection tools before or during the peer review process. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, copying text, ideas, data, figures, or other intellectual contributions from another source without appropriate acknowledgment, substantial self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and presenting another person's work as one's own.

If significant plagiarism or inappropriate text similarity is identified, the manuscript may be rejected. Where plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to investigate the matter and may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, as appropriate. Serious cases may also be communicated to the authors' affiliated institutions or other relevant authorities.

Authors are expected to properly cite all sources and obtain permission where required for the reuse of copyrighted material.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy

The journal recognizes that artificial intelligence and AI-assisted tools may be used responsibly as supporting technologies in academic writing and research. Authors may use AI tools for limited purposes such as language improvement, grammar correction, formatting assistance, translation, brainstorming, or improving the clarity of already-developed text.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, because authorship requires human responsibility and accountability for the research and manuscript.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical standards of their submitted work, including any content produced or modified with the assistance of AI. Authors must carefully verify AI-assisted content, particularly factual claims, references, quotations, data, interpretations, and citations, as AI systems may generate inaccurate or fabricated information.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate or manipulate research data, results, images, references, citations, or other scholarly evidence. The use of AI to conceal plagiarism, create fraudulent research findings, or misrepresent the originality of a manuscript is strictly prohibited.

Where AI tools have been used substantially in the preparation of a manuscript, authors should provide an appropriate disclosure describing the nature and purpose of the AI assistance. The editorial team may request additional information regarding the use of AI when necessary to evaluate the integrity and originality of the submission.

The journal reserves the right to request clarification from authors regarding suspected inappropriate use of AI or plagiarism and may take appropriate editorial action where academic integrity has been compromised.

Author Responsibility

Submission of a manuscript to the journal confirms that the authors take full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, authenticity, and ethical integrity of their work. Authors are expected to comply with this policy throughout the submission, review, revision, and publication process.
